Murray St/Murray, KY Info
Murray, KY was found in 1822 and is located two hours northwest of Nashville and is a university town, surrounded by rural farming community.
Our small town of more than 18,000 boasts a historic downtown with the original 100-year-old courthouse in the middle of our court square.
Our historical make-up changed with the addition of Murray State University in 1922, which is home to approximately 11,000 students.

The Shoe Tree - Couples who meet while at Murray State and later get married come back to campus and nail their shoes to a tree on the quad.

Murray natives and locations were featured in Lukas Graham's "Love Someone" video. The video was filmed by Murray native Will Sampson - whose dad was the ag teacher at Calloway County High School.
Murray is located 20 minutes from Kentucky Lake and the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area
